Every school in America is necessary to teach science. This is because science and science learning is a fundamental element of our existence. Most everything we encounter on a daily basis is somehow related to science. Even when we sleep, the science is there to explain why we need sleep and what happens while we sleep. For this reason, science education is essential to life as we know. Of course, there will be many people who are happy to go through life without knowing how a bird can fly. Even taking this into account, there is always something they need to know and understand who is based on science. Even if something as simple as “fire is hot” or “punch gets hurt. The science is there to explain such simple things as well. A good basic science through the teaching of science is required for all children, but how this teaching takes place is not strictly defined. However, many schools leads to scientific experimentation with hands on science products and supplies. This is a great way for students to “see” the science around them. Often, the learning of a book can be tedious and cause students to lose interest. A scientific experiment, however, is interactive and forces students to take part in learning science. These projects need not be complicated and usually results in a much higher level of learning retention. There are several reasons why children better retain the knowledge gained through scientific experimentation. The first is that it allows you to use these children who are visual learners. These students are those who need pictures or demonstrations to remember things. The words just do not stick in their minds, but when they can see a demonstration or view a scientific experiment, they can understand and retain the subject with much better success. Many students tend to succeed in science because it offers the visual as many other subjects are not. Another reason that the knowledge gained through experimentation of science are kept longer by the students because they are actively engaged. They can not simply go through the experience, they must ensure they do things properly, and the only way to make it by understanding what is happening. It requires students to understand the science behind what they do, and if not, often experience does not turn right. Finally, hands on science experiment gives the student a sense of accomplishment. It is a reward in some way, to have experience running properly. It is reassuring sense of accomplishment at the end of each experiment will want to do more. It will also give them more confidence in what they do and possibly get them to undertake more scientific projects of their own. They are already comfortable with the process they must follow and must simply their own ideas and theories to start their own projects. Even their own science projects children can deepen their knowledge of how the world around them works and functions.
